Handmade characters, natural materials, and a love for small details
Hi Animals is one of those brands where you can immediately feel the care behind every piece. Calm colours, thoughtful details, and characters that feel both playful and comforting.
Based in Brežice, Slovenia, Hi Animals creates handmade textile animals designed to last — made slowly, from natural materials, and with a strong focus on simplicity and warmth.
A love for sewing that started early
“Irena’s connection to sewing began in childhood, in her grandparents’ tailoring workshop. Surrounded by fabric scraps and sewing tools, she started hand-stitching small pieces — simple projects that sparked a lasting love for creating.”
That interest later shaped her education, even though life eventually led her into a different professional path. Still, sewing remained an important part of her everyday life — something she returned to during quiet afternoons and free moments.
Creating with intention
Each Hi Animals piece starts with a linen base, filled with natural wool or PES fibres, and slowly shaped into a 45 cm tall animal. Their outfits are inspired by human clothing — familiar silhouettes, comfortable shapes, and natural fabrics.
Scandinavian lifestyle and design often influence their work, especially the focus on warmth, simplicity, and natural colour tones. The goal is not perfection, but character — pieces that feel gentle, lived-in, and made with care.
Why handmade matters
For Hi Animals, creating is closely connected to how they live.
They believe that small details matter, and that handmade objects carry something special — time, attention, and intention. Creativity is not just part of their business, but part of their daily rhythm, shaping the space they live and work in.

Hana enjoys exploring cafés and brunch spots across Europe, always curious about small details and atmosphere.
Irena finds joy at the sewing machine, spending time in nature, and playing with her dog, Coco.

A meaningful milestone
This year, Hi Animals sent twelve of their creations to Norway. Being noticed in a place known for its strong handmade culture felt encouraging — a quiet confirmation that their work resonates beyond their local environment.

Working with our fabrics
For their animals, Hi Animals often chooses linen fabrics from our shop in a variety of colours. For clothing, they especially love checked and striped muslins, which add interest while staying timeless.
